Nov. 27, 2017, Entrepreneur Incubation & International Partnership of Science Park Beijing, Belt & Road International Co-Incubation (ICI) Dialogue & Launch Event was successfully closed in Beijing. Great Wall Enterprise Institute (GEI) organized the dialogue and participated the Launch Event as one of the ICI sponsors.
20 international panelists were in the ICI Dialogue, coming from 10 Embassies of Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Australia, Israel, Greek, Georgia, Portugal, and Czech Republic, also from EU SME Centre, ENRICH, Innovation Norway, University of Western Ontario, China Britain Business Council, St. Petersburg Technopark OJSC, Chamber of commerce and industry of Serbia, TERA TEHNOPOLIS of Croatia, Korea IT incubating center, and Tech Alpharetta, respectively.
On Chinese side, the policy-makers from Troch center of Ministry of Science & Technology (MOST), Beijing Municipal S&T Commission, Zhongguancun Haidian Science Park, and large Chinese corporations such as Zhongguancun Development Group, Beijing Construction Engineering Group, Aviation Industry Corporation of China, China Resources Pharmaceutical Group, Da Tang Telecom International Technology, as well as Tsinghua University Science Park, Tsinghua Coway International Technology Transfer Center, Beijing Techcode, Arm Accelerator, Beijing BBEF Electronics Group, Rongtong Science &Technology Industry Group took part in the Dialogue.
At the beginning, Mr. Wu Wensheng, general manager of GEI, shared on how to conduct innovative and pioneer cooperation on the Belt and Road initiative. He said that Chinese national hi-tech zones and science parks are places for innovation and entrepreneurship. The cooperation in science and technology parks along the "Belt and Road" is of great significance to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. Many countries along the route, including Thailand, South Africa, Iran, Indonesia and others have already carried out cooperation in S&T parks. Mr. Wu also cited relevant cooperation carried out by national high-tech zones and S&T parks in the field of international innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Dialogue was hosted by Beijing Municipal S&T Commission and organized by GEI, and was centered on International co-incubation under the Belt & Road initiative. The international and Chinese participants exchanged views and experiences around international co-incubation practice and opportunities both for China and Belt & Road markets. The parties concluded that with the support of ICI platform, the international and Chinese players can work together to create “an Incubator in Incubator or a Science park in Science Park” business model between China and B&R markets. It is expected to have more Chinese companies and investors to global and more international companies and entrepreneurs to China with the support by ICI through connecting the incubation service providers together and facilitating their partnerships.
With the end of the Dialogue, in witness of higher officials from Beijing Municipality and MOST and more than 1000 participants both from China and international, Beijing B&R International Co-Incubation (ICI) was officially launched.
